The Institute for e-Health Policy was established in 2008 within the HIMSS Foundation to provide educational and research opportunities for public and private sector stakeholders related to e-health policy public policy decisions. Central Illinois Health Information Exchange
The Central Illinois Health Information Exchange (CIHIE) connects participating healthcare providers across several counties in central Illinois. The Chicago Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center (CHITREC) is a local service organization based at Northwestern University. CHITREC was created as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to provide a range of services to primary care providers interested in achieving Meaningful Use of electronic health records. It has collaborated with more than 40 local and national partners focused on health information technology adoption and use needs within the city of Chicago. Health Technology Services (HTS)
Health Technology Services (HTS) the Montana-Wyoming Regional Extension Center (REC) was established in 2010 as a division of Mountain-Pacific Quality Health Foundation. Illinois Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center (IL-HITREC) is a collaboration of healthcare and educational organizations helping Illinois priority primary care providers (outside Chicago) attain meaningful use of electronic health records. Kentucky Health Information Exchange (KHIE)
The Kentucky Health Information Exchange connects hospitals, physician offices, laboratories, clinics, community health centers and other healthcare organizations statewide to ensure patients receive the best care possible. The health information exchange improves the quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Louisiana Health Information Technology (LHIT) Resource Center
The Louisiana Health Information Technology (LHIT) Resource Center serves as the state’s regional extension center. Services include EHR vendor selection, project management, practice and workflow redesign and meaningful use achievement. The LHIT Resource Center is administered by the Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum, a private, not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to advancing evidence-based, collaborative initiatives to improve the health of Louisiana citizens. In addition, the Quality Forum is responsible for planning and implementing LaHIE, Louisiana’s health information exchange. Other organizational focus areas include quality measurement, clinical quality improvement, the medical home model and outreach/education.

NJ-HITEC is the federally designated Regional Extension Center (REC) for New Jersey. We provide support and assistance to New Jersey's providers in the selection, implementation, and achievement of "Meaningful Use" of an EHR system. NYC REACH is a collaboration between the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Primary Care Information Project (PCIP) and the Fund for Public Health in New York to help doctors in New York City adopt technology and methods that measurably improve the health of New Yorkers. Originally started as a mayoral initiative in 2005, PCIP helped over 3,200 providers adopt and use a prevention-oriented EHR.

Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality
Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality (OFMQ) is an Oklahoma City-based non-profit consulting organization dedicated to improving healthcare and improving lives. PaperFree Florida
PaperFree Florida is a venture of USF Health  at the University of South Florida and serves as the federally designated Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center for 11 counties in western and central Florida.  USF Health initially created PaperFree Tampa Bay, to assist providers to ePrescribe, and the program has evolved into PaperFree Florida which provides many health information technology services, including assistance with the adoption, implementation, and meaningful use of electronic health records. PaperFree Florida consistently ranks highest of the four Florida RECs in project completion and is currently assisting over 2000 providers.  PaperFree Florida has helped more than 1000 clinicians to receive over $20 million in federal incentive funds.

Pennsylvania Regional Extension & Assistance Center for Health IT – East (PA REACH East)
Pennsylvania Regional Extension & Assistance Center for Health IT – East (PA REACH East) is the federally designated Regional Extension Center (REC) for eastern Pennsylvania. Quality Insights of Delaware - Regional Extension Center (QIDE REC) is the federally designated Regional Extension Center (REC) for Delaware. Wisconsin Health Information Technology Extension Center (WHITEC)
The Wisconsin Health Information Technology Extension Center (WHITEC) is the federally designated HIT Regional Extension Center for the state of Wisconsin. As a nonprofit organization and a division of MetaStar, WHITEC is tasked with providing outreach, education, and technical assistance to small and independent primary care practices wanting to implement and achieve meaningful use of electronic health records (EHRs). Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC)
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) is at the forefront of the administration’s health IT efforts and is a resource to the entire health system to support the adoption of health information technology and the promotion of nationwide health information exchange to improve health care.  ONC is organizationally located within the Office of the Secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

ONC is the principal Federal entity charged with coordination of nationwide efforts to implement and use the most advanced health information technology and the electronic exchange of health information. The position of National Coordinator was created in 2004, through an Executive Order, and legislatively mandated in the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act) of 2009.

Social Security Administration (SSA)
Social Security Administration is one of the largest disability insurers in the world. Social Security requests nearly 15 million medical records from almost 500,000 providers to make decisions on about three million disability claims annually. Since 2008, Social Security has led an initiative to enable the electronic exchange of health information to improve the disability determination process.
