As Virginia’s largest public research university, George Mason University offers a Bachelors degree in Health Administration, Health Informatics Concentration, a Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics and Data Analytics, a Masters degree in Health Informatics as well as a Ph.D. in Health Services Research, Discovery Science and Health Informatics Concentration. Many of our Health Informatics degree programs offer the flexibility to earn a degree in Health Informatics completely online. Graduates from our program combine general knowledge and understanding of health informatics with technical skills that allow them to process information, analyze data, and interact with IT systems.

GSU offers a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Health Informatics and a Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics. Our students are being trained to fill the need for health informatics professionals who can serve as liaisons between IT professionals and clinical end-users of technology. Our students take courses in the Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions and the Robinson College of Business. This unique structure allows for students to learn from experts in each discipline. Our curriculum prepares students with skills in software development life cycle, data analytics and project management to enter their new careers.

The HIT program at Lake-Sumter State College in accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Health Informatics and Health Information Management (CAHIIM). Our graduates are highly successful in obtaining entry level jobs in the field and promoting comparatively quickly. We have recently modified our curriculum to offer a course that helps prepare our students to take the HIMSS CAHIMS exam. We have benefitted from our academic affiliation agreement with HIMSS in many ways over the past four years. This year, we will have our students create a "Health IT Week" information sheet to send out to our HIT Advisory Committee along with the invitation to our fall meeting.

Marquette University's Master of Science in Health Care Data Analytics is a 30-credit, fully-online interdisciplinary program. In partnership with healthcare leaders, we continuously enhance our flexible and relevant curriculum to meet the demand within the health care and auxiliary industries for professionals with advanced training in data analytics. Texas State University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Health Information Management and Health Administration. Online and on-campus programs are available and accredited. Texas State is proud to be a HIMSS Academic Organizational Affiliate (AOA) and a HIMSS Approved Educational Partner (AEP).

Since founding the nation's first Health Information Management (HIM) program in 1935, St. Scholastica (CSS) has been a leader in HIM education. We continue to build on this tradition by offering excellent, rigorous education in flexible formats. Program options include B.S. HIM, Post-Bacc Certificate in HIM, M.S. HIM, and M.S. The University of Mississippi Medical Center offers a fully online Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics & Information Management, a Master’s in Health Informatics & Information Management (MHIIM), and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Health Informatics. At the University of Southern Indiana (USI), the College of Nursing and Health Professions has a global influence in healthcare education.
